About Kim

In contemplating my own experiences in nature, I have learned new ways of being, coping, healing, and making change. By sharing my poems and essays, with themes curated along a specific emotional pathway, readers, too, will have the opportunity to learn new ways of being and making change.

My writing is compassionate and nonjudgmental toward readers, yet still puts forth strong new thoughts about how we can all live in this world, in a way that is palatable for readers with differing beliefs.

My ability to work with and understand people blends with my knowledge of the natural world to form a unique writing perspective.

I believe in the power of every writer to tell their story and in the strength of every person to make change. As such, I also design, develop, and teach beginner and intermediate nature writing classes for adults. These can be single-event workshops or a series of writing classes. Some classes I’ve taught include: Nature Writing Levels 1 and 2, Nature Writing Half-Day Workshop, Writing the World Around You, Writing About Climate, Write and Flight Series at Drawing Board Brewing Company.

I teach online or in-person based on the needs of the participants or host.
